International Networking Week®
February 1st - 5th 2010
International Networking Week® was an active and high profile week of events for BNI and Members as Scotiabank partnered with us for our week of activities.
Members of all four chapters participated in three events starting with a big breakfast meeting at The Dining Club on February 2nd with their guests from 7.00am to 9.15am to celebrate International Networking Day.
The keynote address was given by The Honourable David Estwick, Minister of Economic Affairs, Empowerment, Innovation, Trade, Industry & Commerce. Ms Jennifer Murray, Scotiabank Assistant General Manager Branch Banking, spoke on behalf of that organisation and one member from each chapter spoke for eight minutes about their business. The icing on the cake was having the presence of Dr. Ivan Misner - Founder & Chairman via webcam as he interacted with members for 20 minutes.
The week of events continued with a Showcase Day in Bridgetown where members had the opportunity to promote their products and services to the wider community. Participation was high, lots of contacts were made and members have seen results in a short period of time.
The week ended with a Networking Mixer, which was an evening of networking and fun with the focus on raising funds for The Learning Centre – a school for challenge children.
Members donated lots of prizes, which were raffled for the cause. A total of $1,505.00 was raised and will be donated to that school via the BNI-Misner Foundation for Children's Education.
The BNI Bingo Game was lots of fun and allowed everyone to interact and make contacts. The challenge trophy in the quiz competition among all four chapters, was won for the 2nd consecutive year by the BNI Bridgetown Chapter Team of Robert Best, Dr. Anne Rose, and Ian Holligan.
It was a great week making connections and raising the profile of networking in the wider community.
