Barbados Home Show 2005
For the second consecutive year, BNI Barbados participated in the annual Home Show
at Sherbourne Conference Centre 28 - 30 October 2005. Members had the opportunity to
promote their products and services during the weekend,
which resulted in winning "The Best Service Booth" award.
This award was quite an achievement for the organisation this year.

Annual Dinner & Awards 2006
It was recognition time for several members for their contribution to their
chapter during the last year. It was another great event and everyone looked
very dapper. The Director’s presentation was based on the theme for 2007
“who can you refer today?” The significance and true meaning of the theme
should automatically cause everyone to focus on thinking of each other.
Again this year, several members donated door prizes which was a true
reflection of our philosophy “givers gain”.

Talk about talent! Leon & Sharon from the
Trident Chapter showed off their dancing skills...it was WOW!
Josephine from the Hibiscus Chapter brought the house down with her solo.
A skit by the Bridgetown Chapter “inviting the wrong people” had members
and guests in stitches and the “Can’t Sing” choir made merry.
The Event Coordinators and other members who assisted in making the evening an enjoyable one must be complimented for a fantastic job.
Let‘s look forward to 2007 when we will celebrate 5 years of success.

International Networking Week™ 2007
During the week 5th – 9th February 2007, BNI members around the world
participated in many networking activities raising the profile of
networking in the wider community and recognising it as an essential
tool for success in today’s business climate.
In Barbados, the week started off with a church service on Sunday
4th February at Sharon Moravian Church with members from all four chapters
in attendance. Tuesday February 6th was designated
International Networking Day™ and was celebrated with a luncheon event
with over 100 members, guest, television and the print media.
The Keynote Speaker was the Hon. Lynette Eastmond - Minister of Commerce,
Consumer Affairs and Business Development who addressed the audience with
a topic that was quite thought provoking, interactive and relevant to
our business climate.
Members and their guests had a special treat when BNI Founder & CEO – Dr. Ivan Misner,
made himself available to address the audience via web cam in which members
had an opportunity to interact with him.
During the luncheon event, the first BNI Young Entrepreneur in Barbados was announced.
Tanya Martelly, owner of True Contentment – an Event Planning & Consulting Company was the winner.
Tanya was recognised at a cocktail reception on Saturday-February 10th, with prizes
from our own BNI members: a beautiful trophy donated by Island Plumbing
Systems Inc and HRI., Accounting Services donated by Dowell’s Advisory Services Inc.,
Legal Services donated by Beverley Nicholls Attorney-at-law and
Printing Services by Premium Designs & Services.
Thursday 10th February, was another special day in which members had
another opportunity to network and promote their products and services
at the Members Showcase Day. This created an opportunity for members
to do some marathon dance cards and really learn a lot more about
each other’s business as there was participation by all
four chapters - excellent day!
